Mentor Program for students

Get an insight into life after graduation – learn from alumni through our mentor program

The aim of the mentor program is to give you as a student inspiration for your future career. Your mentor will be a former student, i.e. an alumnus/alumna of KTH, with experiences and personal knowledge of how life after graduation can be. He/she may have a different educational background. Mentoring is about asking questions, listening, reflecting and discovering new perspectives.

As a mentee in the Program, you are expected to meet with your mentor at least four times. You and your mentor decide how and when. In addition, you are asked to participate in a meeting with all mentees at the start of the Program, as well as a digital start- and final meeting with all participants. Please contact alumni@kth.se should you have any questions.

En inblick i livet efter examen - få unika tips och råd av en alumn genom vårt mentorprogram.

Syftet med programmet är att du som student ska få inspiration inför kommande karriär och arbetsliv. Din mentor kommer att vara en tidigare student, dvs. alumn från KTH, med erfarenheter och kunskaper om hur livet efter examen kan se ut. Han/hon kan ha en annan utbildningsbakgrund än du har. Mentorskap handlar om att ställa frågor, lyssna, reflektera och ta in nya perspektiv.

Som adept i programmet förväntas du avsätta tid att träffa din mentor fyra gånger, där ni själva bestämmer upplägget. Du deltar också i ett digitalt möte med alla adepter där vi går igenom vad det innebär att vara adept samt ett digitalt start- och slutmöte som är gemensamt för hela programmet. Master thesis project and/or internship opportunity


Cerlic Controls AB is a 40-year-old Swedish company, committed to help limit industrial discharges in lakes, watercourses. As well as to maintain and actively market, measuring and control equipment that streamlines municipal and industrial processes.

Ever since the company was founded, the business idea has been to provide "on-line" information on important parameters in the process industry and wastewater treatment. Cerlic Controls AB offers an exciting MSc thesis project with a focus on problem solving, development and sustainability. The role will provide insight and skills to work at the forefront when it comes to practical applications of current research.

Cerlic is looking for an independent and hungry engineering student who is not afraid to take on new challenges and who can start looking at new areas that can form the basis for future product development. If the project is successful, there might be an offering for continuation after the degree and then practically develop the product that the dissertation demonstrates as recommended.

During the thesis project, you will apply your expertise in your studied area to theoretically study and analyze the difficult-to-measure parameters in treatment plants as well as develop and test proposals for any potential, practical application of theoretical principles.

More specifically; Ammonium, is a difficult-to-measure but essential parameter in treatment plants, the task is to develop existing measurement methods and their theoretical principles. As your thesis project, you should select one or two principles and test whether they have the conditions to work in real operation. To help you, in addition to supervisors on site, you will also have access to two colleagues who work full time with similar tasks outside the ammonium area.

In addition to the degree project, Cerlic Controls AB is also interested in a student who, either in combination with the thesis project or independently, can take part in a part-time internship. The assignment would then include R&D-work to the extent of about 2 days a week during the spring of 2021 and you would then work closely with the company's R&D manager. The tasks at the internship have a wide range and depending on your interests and your experience, you will then choose to focus on a specific area.

CHaSE 2020

“CHaSE (Careers in Health and Science Exposition) is a unique and interactive career fair, where life science companies and YOU, the future of the life science sector, are properly introduced! CHaSE allows graduating students to seek employers, internships or thesis projects and non-graduating students to learn about their careers paths. The day includes company booths, seminars, workshops as well as career and education programme- specific workshops. 75 companies have participated in previous years including: Boston Consulting Group, AstraZeneca, Bayer AG, Danderyds Skjuhus, Medicins San Frontieres, Novo Nordisk, Stockholm Lans Landsting etc.

Intresseanmälan ungdomsrepresentanter till FN 2021-2022 Unga forskare

Hej!

Som medlemmar i LSU har Unga Forskare ibland möjlighet att nominera till olika häftiga uppdrag. Nu har LSU gått ut med att de söker två ungdomsrepresentanter för 2021–2022: en till FN:s Generalförsamling och en till FN:s arbete med hållbarhetsfrågor. Alla personer som är medlemmar i någon av LSU:s medlemsorganisationer och är mellan 18-25 år då uppdragen genomförs kan ansöka och nomineras. Så ni får gärna sprida denna möjlighet vidare till era medlemmar.


Kort om uppdragen (mer info finns här)

Personen bör ha insikt och förståelse för ungdomspolitiska perspektiv, vara intresserad av påverkansarbete, samt en vilja att verka i politiska miljöer. Det krävs inte formell förkunskap och kompetens i frågorna.


FN:s Generalförsamling, (UNGA) 2021
Representanten deltar under 2-3 veckor i FN:s högst beslutande organ Generalförsamlingens 76:e session i oktober 2021 i New York. I uppdraget ingår bland annat att hålla ett anförande i Generalförsamlingens tredje utskott, som ansvarar för frågor om mänskliga rättigheter. Dessutom ingår delaktighet i resolutionsförhandlingar, framförallt Ungdomsresolutionen som behandlas vartannat år.

FN:s arbete med hållbarhetsfrågor, (HLPF) 2021
Representanten deltar under två veckor vid FN:s högnivåforum för hållbar utveckling, HLPF i juli 2021. Forumets syfte är att sätta hållbarhetsfrågorna högre upp på agendan. 2015 antogs Agenda 2030, FNs nya globala mål för hållbar utveckling. HLPF har till uppgift att bidra med politiskt ledarskap, vägledning och rekommendationer för hållbar utveckling, samt att följa upp och utvärdera implementeringen av den nya globala utvecklingsagendan.

För att få söka uppdraget behöver man alltså få en nominering från Unga Forskare eller en annan medlemsorganisation i LSU. Observera att en nominering från oss inte innebär att man fått uppdraget, bara att man kan söka det. Så här gör du om du är intresserad av att söka uppdraget och vill få en nominering från Unga Forskare.

Digital Framtidsmässan 20/10

Framtidsmässan är Sveriges största karriärevent om offentlig sektor. De senaste sju åren har Framtidsmässan varit ett forum för studenter och arbetssökande att lära dig mer om offentlig sektor, söka jobb, praktikplats och exjobb, få inspiration och få mer kontakt med yrkeslivet inom offentlig sektor.

 

Målet med Framtidsmässan är att framtidens professionella ska få insyn i offentlig verksamhet och se vilka karriärmöjligheter som finns inom den.

 

Den 20 oktober genomför offentliga organisationer för första gången en digital version av Framtidsmässan där studenter och arbetssökande får möta arbetsgivare från offentlig sektor via vår digitala plattform. Under dagen blir det olika föreläsningar om bl.a skriva CV-tips, hållbarhet, inspirationsföreläsning med Lärarpodden och liknande.

 

Det är givetvis helt gratis att delta!
